💔 When Love Looks Like Rescue
Seria “THE PLATED PRISONER” de Raven Kennedy, m-a scos dintr-o perioada de pauza de lectura. Nimic nu parea sa se lipeasca de mine. Dupa dezamagirea “Quicksilver” si durerea in prea multe pagini “Binding 13“, pur si simplu nici o carte nu imi mai satisfacea piticul cititor din creier.
Mi-a plăcut Gild. Asta e. Conceptul, lumea, scrisul — captivante. Dar cartea e un labirint al frustrărilor, întrebărilor și haosului strălucitor.
Auren — the “saved” girl — reacts like any human would in a world of danger and loneliness. She clings to the boy, the man, the savior. I get it. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but I understand it. Survival instincts are messy and sometimes mistaken for love.
👑 Midas: The Man, The Myth, The Manipulator
Midas, on the other hand… he needs a stern lesson in humility. He loves her, sure, but he also sees her as a bargaining chip. He doesn’t hesitate to use that leverage, regardless of her feelings, because he knows she loves him more. She becomes collateral damage to his ego — taken for granted, manipulated, adored only when convenient.
” Saddles” – really? I think the ambiguity is intentional.
Midas is numea concubinele “sei”, pentru ca singura lor utilitate era de a fi calarite. E genul de metaforă pe care o scrii, apoi o ștergi, apoi o rescrii, pentru că te întrebi: cât de departe poți merge în a dezumaniza o femeie — și totuși să o faci să creadă că e iubită?
⚡ The Pirate Incident (Or, When Logic Took a Vacation)
At one point, the story loses its focus, and then there’s the infamous “gold pirate captain” moment. Let’s be honest — the book expects us to accept it. No groundwork, no explanation, no buildup. But it inadvertently reveals something brilliant: Auren is the real golden touch.

Yet questions remain: What exactly was Auren saved from? How did Midas, the rogue, become a king overnight? And where is her old guard? The story leaves gaps, characters vanish, plot threads are teased and abandoned.
Despite all of this — the frustrations, the unanswered questions, the head-scratching moments — I am hooked. And now, I’m diving into the second book, hungry for answers, drama, and more of Auren discovering just how golden she truly is.

Gild nu e perfectă. E haotică, provocatoare, uneori enervantă. Dar e vie. Călătoria lui Auren, tensiunea cu Midas, magia ascunsă — te fac să simți, și nu asta e ceea ce contează cu adevărat la citit?
